Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have classes just for beginners?

Yes! In general, our Level 1 classes are basic and are meant for beginner students. These classes will focus on alignment and basic principles of poses. These classes tend to move a bit slower and prepare you for moving forward with your Yoga practice in a safe way so that you avoid injury as your practice progresses. We also offer special 6 week courses for beginners (Yoga 101).

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Leggings, shorts, sweats and a tee-shirt or tank top. We also sell yoga wear at the studio. Remember you want to be able to move easily and most importantly be comfortable.

Do I need to bring my own mat?

We recommend that you bring your own mat. We rent yoga mats for $1.

Do you have showers?

We have two full service showers, if you would like to bring your own towel you may but we also supply them for you.

Why do we have to be on time?

Yoga classes generally start with quiet time during which students reflect on their intention. Walking into class after it has started is extremely distracting and disrespectful to other students. If you arrive late, you may miss the warm up postures which are critical to deeper postures.

Do I need to register for class ahead of time or online?

We recommend arriving to class a few minutes early if it is your first time to the studio to complete a registration form and sign into the class. You can also register for a class online on our website.

What does OM mean?

OM represents that inner thought-free meditative state
where you simply have pure awareness of just being

Quote from Mandukya Upanishad.

The importance of this experience is that you bring to consciousness the fundamental background upon which all other thoughts and feelings play upon the screen of awareness. It is consciousness knowing itself; the impartial witness of the appearance. This is our true identity that lies just behind the veil of ego. Its nature is self-luminous boundaryless bliss, that is there all the time. The practice of meditation is what brings it to awareness.
